The Minoan civilisation flourished for more than 1000 years in Santorini and Crete until, in 1628 BC, the Santorini volcano erupted on a scale without known equivalent. Santorini was wiped out in hours, Crete was ravaged by ash and a tsunami. For many archaeologists this historical event is none other than the tragic end of mythical Atlantis reported by Plato.

Issasara’s will tells the epic story of a young Minoan woman from Santorini who miraculously escapes the catastrophe. Devastated by the loss of everyone she loved, she travels to Crete with her Greek companion in search of possible survivors.

Beyond a tale where exile, lust for power, war and love mix together, this historical fiction explores how the unleashed forces of nature can combine with human behavior to bring about the collapse of a civilization.
